US Rep Markey in Belmont Sunday Morning

Meet and greet the candidate.

The Belmont Democrats are holding a meet and greet the candidate with US Rep. Ed Markey who is running for the US Senate seat now vacant after John Kerry was appointed US Secretary of State. Markey will be talking to anyone interesting coming on Sunday, Feb. 24, at the Patou Thai Restaurant, 69 Leonard St. in Belmont Center. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. The event is free and all are welcome. The campaign does ask that people register so they’ll know how many to expect.  For more information, contact the Belmont Dems here.

Dems Coming Out to Caucus Sunday

Voting to select delegates to state convention at 1 p.m. Sunday in Town Hall.

The annual Democratic Party caucus for Belmont will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12, in the Belmont Town Hall Auditorium, 455 Concord Ave. in Belmont, to select delegates and alternates to the Democratic State Convention. The convention will be held at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield on June 2.   “Belmont Democrats came out in droves to help with Will Brownsberger’s campaign for State Senator. We’re hoping that the excitement generated in that race will result in great attendance at Sunday’s caucus ” said Trish Lohmar, a member of the Belmont Democratic Town Committee.    Sixteen delegates and at least two alternates will be elected.
