All schools in the Belmont School District will be closed on Monday, Feb. 11, according to the School Department's website and a robocall to all town residents. There will be no classes at the town's four elementary schools – Wellington, Butler, Winn Brook and Burbank – the Chenery Middle School and Belmont High School. Earlier in the afternoon, classes at Belmont High School were cancelled, according to a posting on the blog from Dan Richards, Belmont High School principal.

Next week, Belmont High School students will have something extra on their lunch menu: a Breathalyzer. If all goes as planned, students will have the opportunity to operate the yellow cylinder devise and test their fellow classmates with the detector in preparation for the return of class dances, according to Belmont High School Principal Dan Richards as he provided the Belmont School Committee an update Tuesday, Jan 29, on the school's pilot Breathalyzer program.
