Town Meeting Nix Clark House Move To Royal Rd

Opposition said relocating circa-1760 house should not mean losing park land.

While he led the successful opposition to relocating a piece of Belmont history, Vincent Stanton doesn't wish to see that landmark put before the wreaking ball. "I do want to find another solution to where they can place the house," said Stanton, the Royal Road resident who has been the neighbhorhood's bulwark against the 250-year-old Thomas Clark House moving to the parkland across the street from him and his neighbors homes. Substation Article Could Be Delayed to February

Concerns among some supporters Town Meeting reps will not approve $60M bond measure.

An emergency meeting of the joint Municipal Light Board and Municipal Light Department Advisory Board will take place an hour-and-a-half before the 7 p.m. start of Belmont's Special Town Meeting to decide whether to delay until February a vote on the $60 million bond authorization to build a 115 kV electrical substation or to proceed and present the proposal before the 293 representatives to secure the two-thirds 'yes' vote needed to approve the project.
