Dunkin' Downer: Donut Franchise Drops Out of Concord Ave. Site

A corporate decision flattens proposed Dunkin' Donuts shop at Concord and Bright.

America may runs on Dunkin', but it won't on Belmont's Concord Avenue anytime soon. A decision by corporate officials in its Canton headquarters has officially sunk plans by a young, Cambridge entrepreneur who proposed opening a Dunkin' Donuts franchise in the new strip mall at Concord Avenue and Bright Street adjacent to the recently opened East Boston Savings Bank branch.   This marks the second food-related establishment which has failed to get off the ground after announcing plans to come to a storefront in the new retail development at the site of the former Murray Sandler Skate shop. Dunkin' Donuts Heading to Belmont's Concord Ave.

Dunkin' Donuts to Add More Jobs, Locations

CNN reports says Dunkin' Donuts will double stores in 25 years.

Here's some good news for coffee and Munchkin lovers in the area. Dunkin Donuts announced today that it will be doubling its locations in the United States over the next 20 years, according to a CNN report. In addition to more coffee, Dunkin' Donuts will be adding more jobs. The CNN reports says that each new store adds an average of 20-25 full and part-time new employees. The Boston Herald, meanwhile, is reporting that Dunkin’ Donuts’ parent company, Dunkin’ Brands Group, Inc., signed a new deal to keep “franchisees in new markets with the same product costs as franchisees in established Dunkin’ Donuts markets.” The deal, according to the Herald, will eliminate across the board product costs among franchise owners. There are two locations…
