The Tomatoes! First Frost Advisory for Early Friday

The initial cold blast of the season comes as temperature will rebound into the 80s Sunday.

The National Weather Service is expecting some frosty weather tonight and into Friday morning. According to a statement from the NWS on Thursday, "Cold temperatures may damage tender vegetation, including potted plants normally left outdoors." The frost advisory is set for 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. early Friday morning. Temperatures are expected to be in the 30s, causing "widespread frost" over most of Massachusetts, including Belmont and Middlesex County. Boston will just miss the warning. Frost advisories are set during the "growing season," said the NWS in a statement. "Those with agricultural interests are advised to harvest or protect tender vegetation."
