Hazardous Wind Advisory in Effect for Tonight

For the second time since August when Tropical Storm Irene nudged Belmont, the National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather advisory for much of the New England coast and southeastern Middlesex county tonight, including Belmont, from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. Periods of strong and potentially damaging southerly winds will occur tonight as an intensifying storm system moves through the upper East Coast. The strongest gusts could reach up to 50 mph, according to the NWS.
