With opposition growing in the back end of Belmont Hill, the town is moving forward to sell a one-and-a-half acre parcel of land off Woodfall Road that an Atlanta firm has expressed interest in building an end-of-life facility. A draft of a request for proposal for the 229,000 square-foot town-owned parcel situated off Greenbrook Way and Woodfall abutting Belmont Country Club was presented to the Board of Selectmen at its Monday night, Aug. 6, meeting. An Atlanta-based national developer of medical facilities has its eye on a one-and-a-half acre of town-owned land abutting the Belmont Country Club to build a single story hospice building off Woodfall Road, according to the town's Office of Community Development.
