While Belmont Center – and the town – will be losing its largest retail presence when Macy's closes its doors for the final time in less than two months, there will be no impact on tax revenue coming into the town's coffers in the short term, said Belmont's chief tax collector. "Just like any property, it doesn't matter if it's occupied or empty, the landlord (Kevin Foley, the manager of Locatelli Properties) is responsible for paying the tax," said Floyd Carman, Belmont's Town Treasurer. After anchoring retail in Belmont Center for more than 70 years, Macy's Inc. announced today, Jan. 3 it will be closing its Belmont store. So sad to heard Macy´s is closing, every time I go to Boston, I had to make a stop to that store. Women Department most of the time didn´t had go clothes, for men was different, I had a few clothes from that Macy´s last time I went, was December, 2012 I got a very nice jacket for a good price.
