Dance Like Crazy to Sounds Of The 80's Saturday Night

Belmont High School is the place to help support Belmont music education with a blast from the past.

Remember the 1980s? Neither do I but for three hours Saturday night, Feb. 2, everyone in town is invited to come to Belmont High School and jump into their own "Hot Tub Time Machine" and relive the decade with Sounds of the 80's. The dance party/concert from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. in the High School cafeteria will return parents, teens and children to the era of Michael Jackson, Pat Benatar, Dire Straits and Bruce Springsteen as two great Belmont bands – Positive Energy and the world premiere of opening act foodbaby – bring back memories of thin ties, "big" hair, leg warmers, Pac Man and Rubik's Cube.  With Bill Denison and Tom Perrotta on guitar; Ben Scheindlin on bass; Narayan Kaimal drumming; Roger Gallagher on keyboard and several of …

Party with POMS to the Sounds of the 70s

Get down to the music and dancing of a fundraiser to support music programs in Belmont schools.

Parents of Music Students (POMS) invites all current and former students, parents, and all residents of Belmont to attend a fabulous fundraising dance and music event – Sounds of the Seventies – on Saturday, Feb. 11 from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m in the Belmont High School cafeteria. Sponsored by POMS and Belmont Savings Bank, the event features music by local favorite, Richard Curzi, his acclaimed band, Positive Energy, and student musicians from the Chenery Middle School and Belmont High School.  “This event is designed to benefit our children and our community by bringing people together, through music, in support of music," said Debra Smith, one of the night's planners.  Besides music, dancing and refreshments, the evening will also …
