Police Log: Percocet, Please

Incidents handled by the Belmont Police Department. Just because you're mentioned in this column doesn't mean you've been convicted of anything.

Unhealthy meal Thanksgiving – A quiet day for police other than the annual football game but they did have to assist fire rescue with three medical emergency calls during or just after the Thanksgiving meal.  The tryptophan appears to have kicked in just in time. Nov. 23 – A gentleman returning to Belmont from Thanksgiving celebrations on the 73 bus line encountered two fellow passengers who were in a distinctly non-festive mood with the other. In fact, the threats of violence each made on the other caused the gentleman to call and warn police of a possible confrontation after the pair departed the bus at the end of the line at Lexington and Church. But a sweep of the area by officers didn't uncover the two possible combatants.  Sounds …

Fire Log: Kids, Keys and Cars

Incidents and emergencies handled by the Belmont Fire Department.

Check list: Child, keys ... Nov. 4 – Firefighters were dispatched sometime after half past 7 p.m. to a Lorimer Road residence: someone left their child in their car ... and guess where the keys were? The crew from Engine 1 used their skills to gain entry into the vehicle without damaging it.  Leaking on Pleasant Nov. 6 – Just after 1 p.m., Engine 2 headed over to Pleasant Street for what appeared to be a truck leaking some unknown liquid. Turns out that a Verizon Ford Super Duty truck had somehow damaged the vehicle's underbelly and gasoline was leaking into the street from the fuel tank. Familial Affection, Guy in Road in His Undies & Stories of Angry Men

Our weekly compilation of some of the more unusual police reports from around the Boston area. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

When it comes to family, the knives are out. Literally. A Waltham man faces multiple felony charges after allegedly breaking into a Tewksbury home this week — and attacking family members with a knife. Why? Because they wouldn't post bail for him on a domestic assault charge. After Waltham Patch Editor Ryan Grannan-Doll tweeted the story of Eathan Becker's arrest, which was headlined: 'Why Did Waltham Man Try To Kill His Relatives?' A Patch reader tweeted back to Grannan-Doll:  @WalthamPatch Really? Why? Maybe because THEY ARE HIS RELATIVES...  For the whole story: http://patch.com/A-xJ8z   Angry men: Please don't wake me A Watertown man got angry at three men walking and talking loudly at 3 a.m.; police said he got into an argument with …
