Hallelujah: Belmont Open Sing Presents Handel's Messiah Tonight

All invited to sing along the choruses with an orchestra and soloists at Payson Park Church at 7:30 p.m.

Why just listen to the great choruses – including the rousing “Hallelujah” – of Handel’s "Messiah" this Christmas season? Here is your chance to step out from the audience and be a performer. Tonight, Sunday, Dec. 23, any Belmont resident – in fact, anyone who can get to Payson Park Church by 7:30 p.m. – will be given a score (or bring your own) and take part in "Messiah" Open Sing hosted by Belmont's Powers Music School. Little Red Riding Hood at First Church Once Upon a Time ... Music and Stories featuring Seymour Barab's One-Act Children's Opera Little Red Riding Hood. The performances are on Sunday, Dec. 16, at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. at First Church in Belmont, Unitarian Universalist, 404 Concord Ave. Powers Music School is pleased to present this year's program, Little Red Riding Hood, written by esteemed composer Seymour Barab. Join us on this comical musical adventure, as Little Red Riding Hood journeys through the forest and encounters a hungry Wolf who has a strong distaste for sweets but a healthy appetite for other things.
