During his campaign for state representative, Dave Rogers told of his family's experience relying on government assistance – social security survivors benefits – after his father suddenly died when Rogers was 12 years old, praising his mother, Maxine Fitzgerald Rogers, for keeping the family together to where all the children were able to attend college. So it was appropriate that when Rogers was sworn in the State House as the representative for the 24th Middlesex District (the "ABC" District comprising Belmont and sections of Arlington and Cambridge) in the Massachusetts House on Wednesday, Jan. 2, Ms. Rogers, along with his siblings and nephew and niece were in attendance.
