Belmont High School principal issues letter saying Friday night's victim is student.
The probable sexual attack of a young female student across from Belmont High School this past Friday night, Sept. 16, was featured on several local media outlets since news of the assault was released by Belmont Police on Tuesday, Sept. 20. Two of the four major Boston television stations, WHDH and WCVB, broadcast reports from Belmont while NECN, the New England regional cable network, and one of Boston's two daily newspapers also reported on the assault online. No description of assailant of 9 p.m. attack. Comes two months after similar assault on Payson Road.
A young woman was attacked in an apparent sexual assault while walking along the roadway in front of Belmont High School Friday night, Sept. 16, according to Belmont Police. The assault took place at approximately 9 p.m., a half hour after a high school football game concluded at nearby Harris Field. The victim was walking alone in front of the High School next to Clay Pit Pond when she was attacked by an unknown assailant and rendered unconscious, according to a press release issued today, Sept. 20. A young woman was sexually assaulted on Payson Road Wednesday, according to Belmont Police. BPD Lt. Richard Santangelo said a woman in her 20s was attacked along the stretch of road between Payson Park Playground and Belmont Street sometime around 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13. According to a press release, the victim had walked from Cambridge on Belmont Street and turned onto Payson Road. She was walking and talking on her cell phone when she was attacked from behind and thrown to the ground and assaulted.
