Increasing severity of storm means parking on-street and in town lots
Due to the changing weather forecast, the parking ban on all roadways and in municipal and school lots has been extended until 8 a.m. on Sunday February 10, according to Belmont's Department of Public Works. The town and Belmont Police Department has announced a snow emergency that will go into effect at 6 p.m. today, Friday, Feb. 8. All vehicles that are parked on the street and in the town's municipal lots in Belmont Center and in Waverley and Cushing squares and school parking lots over those 26 hours will be towed.

The Belmont Police Deparment has declared a snow emergency for the town in preparation of the arrival of what some meterologists are calling a historic nor'easter blizzard. The emergency will be in effect from 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8 until 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9. Under the town bylaws, parking is not allowed on all roadways and Municipal parking lots in Belmont. Vehicles on streets or lots will be towed to allow the Highway Department to clear the entire width of the roadway.
