Blizzard Barreling Into Belmont Friday, Saturday

At the height of the storm, snow could be coming down at two-to-four inches per hour, accompanied by thunder and lightning.

A potential historic winter storm and blizzard is knocking at Belmont's door and is now expected to leave up to two feet of snow across much of the region beginning Friday, according to the latest forecast issued by the National Weather Service at 4:25 a.m. Thursday morning. The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Watch for Belmont and the area inside Route 495 surrounding Boston stretching into New Hampshire and Connecticut beginning Friday and lasting through Saturday morning.
