Police Log: 'Grandparents Scam' Separates $2,500 from Belmont Grandma

Targeted for card theft March 27 – It's the sort of call you don't want from Target; a Lewis Road man was asked by a Target employee if he had opened a store account which he hadn't. The caller told the resident that the account was opened by someone who knew the last four digits of his social security number, his correct name, address and was just one number off from having his driver's license ID. The fraudster totaled up an outstanding bill with $700 in charges. The Lewis Road was calling the police to make an affidavit and have a police report written up. But hold on, there's more.
