Marauders hold Winchester to four in the third to sprint away to their fifth victory.
Four Belmont High School hoopsters scored in double digits while Winchester's shooters went into a deep freeze in the second half, resulting in the Marauders easing to their fifth win of the season, defeating the Sachems, 52-39. Senior guards Sam Musler (16 points, 12 from beyond the 3-point arc) and Manny Cabral (half of his 12 coming from threes) along with senior forward captain John Dillion and center Tyaishawn Abdul-Aziz with 10 points each led the Marauder attack on their Friday night visit to Winchester High School. Winchester, with a big, strong front court of senior center Craig Fitzgerald (8 points) and co-captains Conor Dunleavy (7 points) and Ryan Murphy (3 points), kept the game close in the first 16 minutes, out-rebounding …
41-32 victory over Winchester is third win of the season, all on the road.
Maybe they can play all their games on the road. On Friday, Jan. 6, Head Coach Melissa Harts' Belmont High School Girls' Basketball squad traveled to Winchester and in their most complete game of the season, defeated the Sachems, 41-32, a win that did not go into double overtime or would come down to a final shot. The team is 3-5 (2-0 in the Middlesex League, Large Division) with each victory coming away from Wenner Field House. Belmont relied on a balanced attack, strong defense and the return of senior Izzy Goldstein (5 point), who had seen sitting out the season due to an injury sustained in Belmont's Girl Soccer playoff match with Newburyport back in October. Goldberg played several valuable minutes allowing Hart to rest junior forward…

Third meeting has the same result: a one goal loss.
Peter Guellnitz, Belmont High School's Boys' Soccer head coach, could only give a smile when asked about his reaction to the story of a game that seems to always have the same ending. In their third meeting this year – the second year in a row they have met in the playoffs – the Sachems walked away with the win over Belmont, this time a 1-0 nail biter that saw Winchester once again wait until late in the contest to connect with the winning strike. And the goal this time came from an unlikely source; midfielder Will Boyle who took a pass from Jeff Tilley and hit a rocket off his left foot past Belmont's goalie Jeremy Lockett, scoring his first goal of the year with 11 minutes left in the game. "There's too many cliches to say," said …

Outscored last two opponents 61-30 to improve to 2-4.
It was a night for big plays as Belmont High School football Marauders handed Winchester High it sixth defeat as the Marauders pulled away from the Sachems 28-6 on a wet Friday night. Belmont's Alex Nikolaidis ran 57 yards and JC Reynolds scampered 66 yards for touchdowns through the heart of the Winchester line while Belmont's junior QB Mike Richardson hooked up with WR Mike Rocha for a 66 yard pass for six more. Reynolds finished the scoring with a six-yard TD with under four minutes in the game. Just as impressive, Belmont's defense - backstopped by linemen and linebackers John Craig, Brendon Sullivan, Jonathan Comeau and Angel Tejada – stopped Winchester twice on fourth and short situations in the second quarter, keeping the Sachems …

The Belmont High boys' soccer team fell to Winchester, the defending Middlesex League champs, 2-1 Tuesday at home.
A perfectly executed corner kick with about 22 minutes remaining proved to be the difference Tuesday evening, as the Winchester High boys’ soccer team hung on to beat Belmont 2-1 to remain unbeaten on the season. The home loss was Belmont’s first of the season, as the Marauders fell to 2-1-2 in the standings. After a back-and-forth first half and beginning of the second, the teams found themselves knotted at 1-1 near the midway point of the second. However, that changed when Winchester midfielder Zach Samson lofted the pivotal corner just inside Belmont’s six-yard line and teammate Jonathan Redwine was there for the textbook header. Redwine, the team’s tall sweeper, rose above a crowd to finish the play. “You can’t teach height,” …
