I am a professional cellist--I play mostly baroque cello, which means I play earlier music on equipment similar to what was used at the time the music was written--so gut strings, no endpin...I play in the Handel and Haydn Society and for Boston Baroque, as well as the Boston Early Music Festival, and many other gigs around town. I also teach in the Historical Performance department at Boston Universtity as well as at the Powers Music School here in Belmont. I write for STRINGS magazine, and am just stepping off the Belmont Cultural Council, which, hopefully, will mean I have time to blog. I live in Belmont (in the house I grew up in), with my husband and two teen aged children.
