About Will

I'm an experienced, independent, socially liberal and fiscally responsible Democratic State Senator representing the Second Suffolk and Middlesex District which includes Belmont, Watertown, and parts of Allston, Brighton, Back Bay, and Fenway. If you need to confirm whether or not I represent you, you can visit Where Do I Vote on the Secretary of State's website or call my office.

I serve as the co-chair of the Joint Committee on Public Service, vice-chair of the Joint Committee on Election Laws, and a member of three other committees: the Joint Committee on Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture; the Joint Committee on Municipalities and Regional Government; and the Joint Committee on the Judiciary. For more information on these committees or to see the bills and laws I have co-sponsored, you can visit my legislative profile

My legislative priorities include transparency in government, financial responsibility, environmental responsibility, education innovation, and transportation.

Prior to winning my senate seat in a special election in January 2011, I served for five years as the State Representative for the 24th Middlesex District, and before that, I served three terms as a Belmont Selectman. I am a full-time legislator, with a career that spans law, business, and public service.

You may always call me at my State House office at 617-722-1280 or by cell phone at 617-771-8274. My e-mail address is William.Brownsberger@masenate.gov. My website at willbrownsberger.com provides many details on my positions and is also a place for open dialogue and public feedback on many topics in our Forums where you may also start a public conversation under "Speak Out!" I look forward to hearing from you.
